John 8:1-2

1 But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.

2 Now early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them.


1 But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.

Meaning 1: Jesus left to have some alone time.

Question 1: Do I spend time alone with God like Jesus did?

 

2 Now early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them.

Meaning 2: Jesus was doing what He loved, he went to the mount of olives probably to pray and be alone, then to the temple to teach those who come to speak with Him. 

Question 2: Do I get away from people and pray? What is my best place to feel at home with God?

 Take Away!!

I need to be sure that I am following Jesus example and get away from daily activities and people to spend some time with Him. If Jesus needed that time so do I.

~ April 9, 2024 ~ John 7:40-44 ~

    ~ John 7:40-44 ~ 40  Therefore many from the crowd, when they heard this saying, said, “Truly this is the Prophet.”  41  Others said, “This is the Christ.”  But some said, “Will the Christ come out of Galilee?  42  Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the seed of David and from the town of Bethlehem, where David was?”  43  So there was a division among the people because of Him.  44  Now some of them wanted to take Him, but no one laid hands on Him. Verse 40  Therefore many from the crowd, when they heard this saying, said, “Truly this is the Prophet.” Meaning 40: People were really starting to believe in Jesus, they still saw Him as a prophet rather than the Messiah though.  ~ John 7:50-53 ~ 50  Nicodemus (he who came to Jesus by night, being one of them) said to them,  51  “Does our law judge a man before it hears him and knows what he is doing?”  52  They answered and said to him, “Are you also from Galilee? Search and look, for   no propher  has arisen out of Galilee.”  53   And everyone went to his   own   house. 50  Nicodemus (he who came to Jesus by night, being one of them) said to them,  Meaning 50: Nicodemus was a Pharisee and he had gone to Jesus to ask Him questions and now He came back and talked to the Pharisees.  Question 50: Do I question what I was told and check the Bible for accuracy?    51  “Does our law judge a man before it hears him and knows what he is doing?”  Meaning 51: Nicodemus asked a question of the Pharisees and wanted to know more about who the Messiah would be.  Question 51: Do I check what people believe before getting into a subject I am not sure of?    52  They answered and said to him, “Are you also from Galilee?
